Welcome Tamsin Baker!

Hi guys, please welcome Tamsin to my blog today with her new release from Evernight!

New M/M short story: (Romance on the Go) By Tamsin Baker

Blurb:

Nick is the most beautiful, successful, amazing man—just ask his executive assistant Tayte.
Tayte’s been in love with his boss from the moment he set eyes on him. But two years working with him and Tayte isn’t even sure Nick is gay.
But it’s time for his contract evaluation and Nick wants to give Tayte more than just a raise.

Excerpt:

It took Tayte ten minutes to walk to his car, then another fifteen to drive to Nick’s place and find a place to park.
When he stepped up to the intercom on the outside of the expensive apartment block his heart was pounding a hundred mile a minute.
He pressed the apartment number and waited, thrusting his hands into his suit pant pockets.
“Come on up.” Nick’s voice came through the speaker and a loud buzzing ensued.
Tayte grabbed at the door handle and pulled hard, not wanting to look ridiculous by asking Nick to do it again.
He rode the lift up, his belly unsettled and excited. He shouldn’t be nervous. They’d already had sex. What else was going to happen?
He walked up to apartment twenty-seven. How many times had he thought about this moment? He’d made up a hundred excuses in his head, scenarios where he’d end up at Nick’s apartment at ten o’clock at night and they’d make out, or something.
He laughed as he knocked on the door and hung his head in shame. When did reality ever beat a fantasy?
“Never.” He muttered beneath his breath just before the door swung open.
“I’m just cooking a steak. You want one?”
Nick was topless, in jeans, and holding a pair of tongs.
“I love you.”
Did I just say that? Oh fuck!
Nick just laughed and waved him in. “I’ll take that as a yes.”
Tayte wandered in, half transfixed by the sight of Nick’s gorgeous arse moving in his blue denim and the other half salivating over the smell of cooking steaks.
He walked down a hallway and stepped into a massive open plan living space.
“Wow,” Tayte said as he walked toward the floor to ceiling windows showing off a magnificent view of the city. “What a view.”
“Yeah, thanks. It was the main reason I bought this apartment. Some of the other ones were bigger, but the view sold me on this place.”
Tayte nodded and continued to stare. Wow. On a clear morning you’d be able to see all the way to the docklands.
“Medium rare okay for you?” Nick asked and Tayte turned around to face his chef for the evening. His belly rumbled in response and he rubbed over the loud sound.
“Yes please.”
Nick had set the glass table for two and set two plates down, each with a steak, a handful of green beans, and some garlic bread.
“You want anything else?” Nick asked as he unscrewed the top on a bottle of red wine and poured a couple of glasses. “Unless you want a beer instead?”
Tayte shook his head and swallowed hard.
“No, that’s great.”
They sat down opposite each other and picked up their wine glasses.
“Cheers and welcome,” Nick said with a relaxed smile, inclining his glass toward Tayte’s.
“Oh, yeah. Thanks.” Tayte moved his glass forward clumsily and the crystal clanged with a ricocheting racket.
“Fuck. Sorry.” Tayte grabbed onto his wine goblet to still the noise and gulped down some of the peppery red. He was seriously stuffing this up.
“No stress.” Nick smiled again before he too drank some of his wine. “Dig in.”
Tayte stared down at his eye fillet and picked up his utensils. How much more of a spazz could he be? He cut into his steak, red juices oozing from the center.
“It’s probably closer to rare, than medium,” Nick said as Tayte put a piece in his mouth and groaned as paradise exploded across his tongue.
“Good?” Nick asked, expectation and pleasure already present in his blue eyes.
“Hmmm, mmmm,” Tayte responded, swallowing then continuing to devour the eye fillet that was cooked to perfection. “Wow.” He sighed when he’d finished, reaching for the accompanying carbohydrate and inhaling the fumes. He loved garlic bread, especially one slathered in butter.
“You got plans for the weekend?” Nick asked.
The boss was making small talk! Now that was a first

Derek tends to go with his feelings—intense and passionate, with a strong alpha streak. It will be up to him to bring Cara out of her shell and help her experience life to its fullest. Both of them feel that special spark, and one passionate night could change the course of their lives forever.

Welcome Raven McAllan!

Please welcome Raven McAllan to my blog today to talk about her new release with Evernight!

Being Luca's by Raven McAllan
The premise for the book was very limited.
Using the name Leigh, Monteith, and Corrieri, because my hairdresser asked me to. Apart from that it was up to me. I knew what I wanted to write, but oh boy it wouldn't work for ages. I deleted the first two chapters, started with chapter three as chapter one, and all of a sudden, I wrote, and wrote, and finished a nice—well I hope so—Romance on the Go. Then I got worried that Leigh, the person, might not like Leigh the character. But she loved her, drooled over Luca and wanted to know when it was due to be published. Well I had to explain there was the none too small matter of subbing and getting an acceptance.
But chair swivel jiggle I got it…
This is the result…

What is a marriage without trust?
When damning newspaper reports point to the seeming infidelity of her husband, Formula One Racing Championship driver Luca Corrieri, Leigh runs without waiting for his explanations.
After all, the pictures don't lie. He has been cheating on her with her best friend.
Luca is devastated at the ease with which Leigh abandons what they have. Surely their marriage deserves more, but how do you convince someone of your innocence when they are not prepared to listen?
When the truth finally comes out, is their love strong enough to save their marriage?

Here's a wee tease…

She lay there in that pleasant state halfway between awake and asleep and relaxed.
The heavy hand on her shoulder made her scream, shoot up out of her chair, and turn around in a move to do any prima ballerina proud. Red wine went in every direction, except luckily, on her.
The guy who stood behind her chair didn't fare so well. With red wine dripping from his hair onto his face, and from his chin onto what seemed like a very costly silk shirt, he looked a mess. Even his expensive-looking trousers hadn't got off scot-free.
The expression made Leigh want to giggle—after all she was a Scot— although the guy standing there with a face like frost didn't.
"What a way to greet me, cara. Are you still feeling so pissy? After all you got what you wanted."
Leigh saw red and it wasn't just the spilled wine. All her introspective thoughts about being narrow minded flew out of her mind.
"Asshole. Fucking asshole. No, you got what you wanted. Your dick in that marriage wrecking groupie's cunt. What I wanted was your bollocks in a vise. And her clit to shrivel and her channel to shrink."
She couldn't believe the profanities that spewed out of her. Leigh always prided herself on not swearing, because as her mother had often said, it showed a lack of imagination and vocabulary. Right then she couldn't have cared less if it made her illiterate. The words fitted.
He reddened, took out a linen handkerchief, and wiped his face without saying a word.
Leigh was on a roll. In some perverse way she was enjoying herself. It was cathartic, saying just how she felt, to his face. "I hope you got yourself checked out, Luca? After all who knows who was in that pussy before you? Did you check the hair for nits? Oh no I forgot, she's probably one who dares to bare." She didn’t mention that since she and Luca had separated she'd tried that, liked it, and never gone back to hairy. "Best way really, less to catch anything in."
"You know nothing." He barked the words, looked around and then dropped the sodden handkerchief onto the table. "That's enough."
Leigh ignored him. "Not by a long chalk Signor Corrieri. Why are you here? How did you get in? Added breaking and entering to your list of transgressions now, have we?"
He swung a door key in front of her face. "No breaking necessary, cara. You left this in the door. Freudian slip? Or were you waiting for someone else?"
"Neither." She snatched the key from him and put it in her pocket. "I'm not the one who played away."
"Will this verbal crucifixion go on for ever?" Luca's voice was flat and unemotional. Only the tic at the corner of his eye showed how affected he was. "I screwed up, I admit it. I said sorry, what more do you want me to do? Bleed?"
"Well you screwed all right, and I guess it was up. Up into her. Bleeding isn’t enough. I've bled enough for both of us." Leigh bit back a sob. Luca lifted his arm toward her, took one look at her face and let it drop. She could only imagine what he'd seen there. However, if her emotions showed in her expression as usual, it would have been something along the lines of how she was wondering if she could commit murder and get away with it.
"You cheated, Luca. You defiled what we had. And that bitch crowed about it. In every bloody paper, before you said as much as a dicky bird. Were you hoping to get away with it? Fat chance with Angela, oh I'm your friend Leigh, bloody here's my cunt screw me whatsherface. Two faced bitch." All her thoughts of being open-minded, things aren't always what they seem, had gone from her mind. She was, in the words of her friend's daughter, 'in a mad'. "As for you, couldn't you have kept your cock in your trousers for one weekend? Was that too much to ask? And now I expect you're going to say it was all her doing. That she came on to you, and you were drunk and didn't know what was happening. Men. Think with their dicks." She turned her back on him and very deliberately filled her glass.
"No, I'm not going to say it was all her doing. It takes two to be f…"
"Okay I get your drift." Leigh sat back in her chair. "Oh sit down, Luca. Tell me why you're here and then go away. If you want some wine, in a glass and in your throat rather than over you, there are glasses in the cupboard next to the sink. If not speak up and then fuck off. I want to wallow and wonder why I'm so lacking in sexuality my husband needed a whore."
"You are so wrong, cara. But it's not my story to tell." Luca sighed, nodded and walked into the house. She heard cupboard doors open and close. Why hadn't she just told him to get lost? Taken her key and locked the door behind him?
Because we've never really talked about it.
Luca returned to the garden and poured wine into a glass before he sat next to her and swirled the liquid around the vessel.
"Good legs," he said.
She laughed, although there wasn't a lot of humor in it.
"Me or the wine?"
"Both, although in this case I meant the wine." He stretched his long legs out in front of him, and held his wine glass loosely between thumb and forefinger.
Leigh looked at him out of the corner of her eye. As ever during the race season there wasn't an ounce of fat on him, only honed and toned muscle. In any other circumstances she would have drooled.
"Ah well, I had a good teacher." By now Leigh had calmed down. Except for her unruly hormones which made her itch to undo his shirt and run her hands over those impressive abs and … down girl, this is your lying, cheating almost ex here. Or he was until she thought otherwise.  The cuss-filled rant had done her good, but worn her out. "Okay, Luca, why are you here?"
"You're not going to like it," he said in a warning tone. "But I felt I had to warn you."
Warn her? That sounded ominous. Was there anything worse he could hit her with
"Tell me."

Raven McAllan
Raven Bio…

Well what can I say?

I'm growing old disgracefully and loving it.
Dh and I live on the edge of a Scottish forest, and rattle around in a house much too big for us.
Our kids have grown up and flown the nest, but roll back up when they want to take a deep breath and smell the daisies so to speak.
I write in my study, which overlooks the garden and the lane. I'm often seen procrastinating, by checking out the wild life, looking—only looking—at the ironing basket and assuring tourists that indeed, I'm not the bed and breakfast. That would mean cooking fried eggs without breaking the yolks, and disturbing the dust bunnies as they procreate under the beds. Not to be thought of.
Being able to do what I love, and knowing people get pleasure from my writing is fantastic. Long may it last.

Welcome Beth D. Carter!

Today Beth D. Carter is joining us with her new release from Evernight! ... and I gotta say, I too love that title!!

Thank you so much for hosting me!  “As Midnight Loves the Moon” went through many incarnations before becoming a MMF story.  I had originally written it without Daphne, as a straight MM story and no sex, but it sat for a long time because something was missing…until I thought about adding a human girl into the mix, and then my poor dying heroine popped into my head.  After that, well, who doesn’t think of sex and vampires?  It’s almost symbolic, as the fang slides in so does his throbbing member.

Okay, sorry for the purple prose!  LOL!

I’ve also gotten a lot of compliments to the title.  I must admit, I didn’t dream of this all on my own.  One of my favorite campy movies from the 80’s was “The Pirate Movie” with Christopher Atkins and Kristy McNichol.  In the movie, Frederic (Atkins) asks Mabel (McNichol) “Mabel, do you love me?”  And she replies, “As midnight loves the moon.”  I’ve always loved that line.

Blurb:

Wayde Wallace is a vampire.  He’s been alone for a long time, until he smells the sunshine scent of a woman and finds Daphne Sabella.  Her blood smells intoxicating until he catches the stench of sickness upon her and realizes Daphne is dying.

Alexander Malden is a Shade cop sent to patrol the supernaturals who lives among humans.  A rogue vampire is killing women and he thinks Wayde is the monster because only a trickster can make him feel such lust and longing.

To prove his innocence, Wayde goes out to find the real rogue vampire and Alex can’t help but follow because the mating bond has already settled between them.  And when they believe they can finally help Daphne, she’s become the next victim.  Now they must rescue her and turn her before her heart gives out.

Excerpt:

Wayde looked behind Alex and noticed their conversation had gathered a few watchers. His gaze flickered back up to the handsome cop. “I suggest you sit down,” he said softly. “We’re attracting human notice.”
Alex glanced over his shoulder, probably to double check he told the truth, and slid into the booth, staring at him and carefully keeping out of his reach. “You think by distracting me in a bar, I won’t kill you?”
“You’re so bloodthirsty. Again, I ask you, why do you want to kill me? I’m not your rogue vampire.”
Alex’s eyebrows skyrocketed. “Right.”
“I’m not,” he stressed. “I’m a bookstore owner. I deal in extremely rare books, usually pre-Gutenberg printing press, although I never turn down a book in excellent condition from around 1040 to the mid-1800’s. Beer?”
“No,” Alex answered with a low growl. “Listen, you tried to kill me yesterday—”
“You attacked me,” Wayde interrupted. He pushed his beer aside and kept his eyes steady on the warrior in front of him. “And if I wanted you dead, you’d be dead. As you learned last night, I am able to hold my own.”
“I’ve come better prepared.” Alex opened his jacket a little more to show his gun.
“Ah. Your master plan is to take me out back and shoot me?”
“Of course. Your suggestion, remember?”
“Of all the things I said last night, that’s what stood out?” Wayde chuckled. “Listen, I have your sword at my shop. You can stop by anytime to pick it up.”
“I don’t actually plan for you to be alive for much longer.”
“Then I beg to differ,” he replied. “Have you ever killed a vampire before?”
He saw the answer before Alex muttered “no.”
He shifted forward in his seat, leaning toward Alex, who stiffened at the gesture. Then he focused on Alex, blocking out everything around them. The noise, the smell, the crackle of vinyl seats all faded as he called forth his hunger. It rose sharply, like it always did, waiting eagerly to be sated. It was heat and power and magic, all rolled together, bursting forth like an invisible web. And as soon as he captured Alex’s eyes with his own, he knew he had the man.
“I want you,” he murmured, weaving his spell. He knew that his voice took on a husky timber, that his eyes blazed with blue fire, and that his pheromones heated up. “Do you want me too, Alex?”

Bio:

I like writing about the very ordinary girl thrust into extraordinary circumstances, so my heroines will probably never be lawyers, doctors or corporate highrollers.  I try to write characters who aren't cookie cutters and push myself to write complicated situations that I have no idea how to resolve, forcing me to think outside the box.  I love writing characters who are real, complex and full of flaws, heroes and heroines who find redemption through love.

I’ve been pretty fortunate in life to experience some amazing things.  I’ve lived in France, traveled throughout Europe, Australia and New Zealand.  I am a mom to an amazing little boy.  I’m surrounded by friends and family.  I hate washing dishes but I love cooking. I hate washing clothes but I love wearing them. Writing my bio is difficult because I never know what to say so I hope you like this one.  My favorite color is red but I look best in black (it’s slimming).  I hate people who don't pick up their dog's crap in public places, people who don’t use turn signals, and I really hate people who are rude and condescending. I especially hate discrimination in all and every form.  And although I love holding a book in my hand, I absolutely adore my e-reader, whom I’ve named Ruby.  I love to hear from readers so I’ve made it really easy to find me on the web: https://twitter.com/BethDCarter

I’m so excited! My story The Encounter is now available!
The Encounter is the first book in a series I’ve started called: The Agency. An ‘advertisement’ for The Agency goes something like this: “Seen a ghost? Have issues with a poltergeist? Experienced a close encounter? If you’ve come across something odd and don’t know what your next step is, call The Agency. We’re here to help you regarding your supernatural needs.”
Cool, right? (: I’m currently at work on the next few stories in this series, but for now check out The Encounter available from Evernight Publishing.

Blurb
The Agency, 1
Evan ‘Zen’ Zenas is the top agent at The Agency and is known for his brusque demeanor. He’s also known to be tough on trainees. Those who find themselves under his tutelage usually don’t last long. When he’s assigned a new assistant, Seth Trivos, Zen’s faced with questions about his past he’s not too keen on answering.
Seth Trivos knew Evan once upon a time, loved him even, but when Evan disappeared, he unknowingly broke Seth’s heart. Now, he’s in Evan’s world as the newest recruit at The Agency, and he’s looking for answers.
Will Zen chase away another new assistant because he doesn’t want to open up about a past encounter or will being forced on a case together make him face the demons he’s been trying to hide from?
Be Warned: m/m sex

Excerpt
Zen threw his arms around him in a tight hold and claimed his mouth with wild abandon. Seth’s head reeled. He couldn’t believe he and Zen were kissing. Granted, it wasn’t anything like the soft moments and slow love making he’d imagined over the years, but he’d take what he could get at the moment.
Zen moved his hands up and down Seth’s back. The heated touch under his jacket and over his shirt seared his skin in a delightful way. Zen’s lips pressed upon his almost too violently. He swept his tongue out, forcing Seth to open his mouth.
Seth adored the taste of him, salty and spicy, and his scent of leather and earth as well.
God, for so long he’d waited to have Zen in his arms, his body close. Zen’s lips trailed down his neck. Seth reached up and cupped the back of Zen’s head. Zen pulled at his shirt, tugging it from the confines of his pants without breaking the kiss. In the process of kissing him, somehow Zen was able to unbutton and unzip both their pants and free their cocks out of the openings.
Desire rushed through Seth, clawing at his insides. Zen clutched at him like a drowning man scrambling for purchase on any floating thing to save him from the watery depths. Hands traveled over his shoulders, up his shirt, feeling all the nuances of his chest and back down to his rock-hard cock. The man held their dicks against each other, and Seth sucked in a long stream of air. The feel of their two satiny lengths rubbing together was a heady sensation.
Zen turned their bodies and laid them down. He stretched over Seth. Seth loved feeling the weight and heat of Zen’s strong body atop his. Still, Zen continued to kiss him, and he continued to surrender to the demand of Zen’s mouth.
